What to Expect…
Expect to be welcomed!
Expect to find specially marked Guest Parking spaces in the main parking lot behind the church. Enter this lot from any of the three driveways off Galloway Ave.
Expect to worship!
Our services, as you might expect, are held in the sanctuary and you enter from the back-parking lot in the door marked “Sanctuary”. Service begins at 10:30 a.m. and the dress ranges from suits and dresses to jeans and T-shirts. Please come dressed in what makes you comfortable.
Expect a time of greeting, but don’t worry, everyone stands up, so you won’t stand out.
Expect that there will be singing!
Music is chosen from the hymnal and includes contemporary selections.
Expect communion to be offered every Sunday and everyone may partake, it’s an “Open Table” meaning that you do not have to be a member of the church, or any church, to receive the act of grace that is Holy Communion.
Expect to join hands at the end of the service when everyone meets at the center aisle for the singing of “God Be with You ‘Til We Meet Again”.
Expect to learn!
Sunday School classes meet in the Education Building, next door to the Sanctuary. Classes for all adult ages start at 9:30 a.m. and there are classes for children from age four to high school. Under age three may go to the Nursery located at the back of the Sanctuary. The Family Life Center is used for special events and houses our affiliated day care, Academy Kids, and our private kindergarten, Faith Preparatory (opening August 2020).
Youth, the adult Choir, and the Praise Team meet on Wednesday evenings.

Unite With Us…
You have visited. You have participated in some activities. You have made friends. You want to unite with us as a member, now what?
Uniting with us is simple, but you may wish to speak with the pastor about your desire to join FUMC of Mesquite, but it isn’t a requirement. You may become a member by transfer of membership from another United Methodist church or another denomination; or by professing your desire to join; or by confirmation. You do not have to be baptized prior to joining the church; however, we recognize the importance of baptism and encourage you to take that step-in faith. Baptism can be in the form of sprinkling, pouring, or immersion.
Membership vows are professed at the end of worship in front of the congregation as a public sign that you are joining a family of faith and that our family of faith is welcoming you!
Why belong to a Church?
Life is hard. Sometimes it just downright stinks. The husbands and wives, sons and daughters of this church know that having a Church “community” or Church “family” that they can turn to in times of need makes getting through life a LOT easier. Not only that, but when times are good, we can spend time learning to be better people, to love each other better, try and hold each other accountable and challenge each other to be the best people God intended us to be so that we might fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.
